Familiar spirit

I saw how the Lord is preparing a portal in heaven and how He commanded 3 troops of angels.

  1. The first troop of angels, He asked them to prepare the portal. They were standing like a circle in a portal
  2. The second group were raised up as soldiers, as warfare angels that was waiting for the Lord to send them out
  3. The third group brought in all the lost souls to The Well, all the people that God wants, to The Well

Familiar spirit

In the biblical times with the kings, because they did not all had the Holy Spirit, so they needed to ask people for direction because they themselves didn’t hear from the Holy Spirit. They did not have the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament.

The astrologers will look at the stars and tell the future as the kings enquire of what is going to happen. The Pharaohs had magicians in their courtrooms, who will help them make a “fair” decision. Nebuchadnezzar used fortunetellers, astrologers, magicians. It was really a messed-up time at that stage because they were so desperate to hear from God.

We have the Holy Spirit. All that we can do, is to ask Him and He will give us direction, He will show us, He will be our Comforter.

Saul was appointed by the people. He was not a good king; he was not serving the Lord. The Lord didn’t listen to his prayer-request. Because he was working with soothsayers and fortunetellers, so the spirit that was at work at that time was a familiar spirit. It was not the Holy Spirit.

1 Samuel 28 (NKJV)

6 And when Saul inquired of the Lord, the Lord did not answer him, either by dreams or by Urim or by the prophets.

7 Then Saul said to his servants, “Find me a woman who is a medium, that I may go to her and inquire of her.”

And his servants said to him, “In fact, there is a woman who is a medium at En Dor.”

He was so rebellious that he didn’t even realize what he was doing. All that he wanted to know is how to win the battle against the Philistines. How many times do we, as God’s children face giants in our life? Then we pray unto God, because we believe in that moment in time that God is not answering our prayers. Without realizing we open up the spirit realm for other spirits, which is a familiar spirit.

11 Then the woman said, “Whom shall I bring up for you?”

And he said, “Bring up Samuel for me.”

12 When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out with a loud voice. And the woman spoke to Saul, saying, “Why have you deceived me? For you are Saul!”

He disguised himself because the Lord didn’t want to answer him. He went to this medium and tried to mislead her.

There are so many times when people lost someone to the dead, especially the past 2 years. Many times, people cry out, if I can just speak one more word to that person or if they can hold me one more time. This is unscriptural because we have the Holy Spirit as a Comforter.

Necromancy = to make contact with the dead.

Maybe you disguise yourself: nobody know that you have this desire to be comforted or to speak to the dead, even in your dreams. When a person that passed away, speak to you in your dreams, it is not that person. It is another spirit. It doesn’t matter if he presents himself as an angel of the light. Immediately cut it off and ask the Holy Spirit to take over.

Isaiah 8:19 (NIV)

When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? 20 Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn.

If somebody tells you it is okay to talk to the dead in a dream, it is okay if a loved one who passed away appear in your dream and you talk…

Leviticus 19:31 (NIV)

Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.

It is really important that we allow the Holy Spirit to speak to us, that we allow the Holy Spirit to comfort us. That when we are in a place that we mourn, do not disguise your mourning, do not disguise your pain, do not disguise who you are. Just go before the Lord and say, “Lord, I am so desperate. I miss my dad; I miss my mom. Can you please just come and comfort me. Will you just put your arms around me and just comfort me?”

Because just like that you can open yourself up to a familiar spirit, & get involved in the spirit-realm, but not the Holy Spirit.

why would the Lord not answer him when he asks Him something? He was in rebellion. The Lord spoke to Saul and gave him certain instructions. Saul made excuses and kept the best for himself and said he wants to keep it for a sacrifice for the Lord. But the Lord gave him an obedience-step to get rid of everything. He justified it with a religious righteousness.

Every one of us has a Saul-moment inside of us. Saul is the flesh and David inside of us, which is longing after the heart of the Father. These two are in battle, that is why the Lord says we must be transformed by the renewing of the mind. The Lord was waiting for Saul to be obedient, to just come in alignment, because He already gave Him the instruction.

The Lord will give you the second instruction as soon as you have fulfilled the first instruction.

The fleshly man will always try to overrule the spirit-man. Saul = “prayed for, trusted for.” What did you pray for, what did you trust the Lord for? Just maybe the Lord didn’t answer you in time, maybe the Lord worked in a different way. It seems like there is one stumbling block upon the other, and without people realizing they step out from the David anointing into the flesh and say, “I must do something, I’m going to set this thing right, I’m going to take my rightful place, I have rights.” That rebellion.

“This is also biblical, so I will do that instead of the instruction the Lord has given me. It is the right thing to do.” When you deviate from God’s voice, when you act contrary to God’s voice, you are sinning.

The most dangerous thing of all, is that Saul kept his mantle. You do not even realize you are lost, because you are still experiencing the anointing, or it seem like you have a revival in your church. It seems very much that you are in line with what God wants you to do. Saul’s mantle was only taken from him when he died. You can deviate from God’s word and still have the mantle on you and do wrong things in the Name of the Lord, but it is not the Lord’s will.

Sometimes we pray for things. This is what Saul means: “prayed for.” It means “romancing.” You are romancing the Holy Spirit because you want to ask things of Him. But it is your flesh, you pray out of your flesh.

But what we need to do is to go over into our spirit-man, to step over into our spirit-man so that we can see what the strategy is that God wants us to do. It is step 1, 2 & 3. But now it seems like step 2 is happening. But my flesh says, “Why did 1 & 3 not happen? I must take control; I must sort this thing out.” You step into your flesh, and you try to do 1. Although it was words spoken by the Lord in a strategy, but the way that you are doing it, the spirit that you use to get that done isn’t the Holy Spirit.

In the moment you do something else than what God told you, in that moment you went into rebellion, in that moment you opened yourself up to a familiar spirit.

Saul was lying to himself by saying he kept the cattle for a sacrifice for the Lord, but if it was for the Lord, he would’ve been obedient in the first place. It is very important to be 100% obedient.

The Lord gives you a new day today. He wants us to go back to that place where we compromised, where we chose the favor of people rather than God and just make that decision.

A person knows when you are disobedient, you know when you go into rebellion.

He gave His only son for me and you. And therefore, if the Holy Spirit comes to you and He convict you of a certain thing that you did not even realize in that moment that you lied about or that you didn’t want to do it or there was rebellion, just immediately go into repentance. Ask the Holy Spirit to just come and cover you with the blood, thank the Lord Jesus for what He did on the cross and you start out with a clean page. In that moment the Lord opened a new book for you, and it is as if you never ever sinned.

Do not follow the direction of talking to the dead, talking to mediums, talking to fortunetelling spirits. Don’t open yourself up for a familiar spirit. A familiar spirit always brings division, it always brings a curse. Just trust the discernment of the Holy Spirit.

If somebody tells you to be careful to whom you open your spirit to, this is suspicion. The fruit of that is suspicion. Many times, we say, “Be careful what you are doing.” Only those words tell me there is suspicion. It brings you in a place of fear. No! We are trusting the Holy Spirit. Until the moment that my Holy Spirit – because I trust Him so much – comes to me and says to me, “This is not My Spirit”, then you ask him but what spirit is at work. Then He will reveal to you what is the spirit. Just pray over it for the Lord’s protection and that the Lord will help you in taking the next step.

For example, your daughter is coming home with a man, and you feel in your spirit that this man is not right for my daughter. But you do not know, because the Lord has maybe spoken in both their hearts that they are for one another, this is a God-given relationship and God is going to let them get married. Because you do not like Mr A, you start to pray that her eyes will open for Mr B, but you know Mr B is not the right person for your daughter. But it is for you a solution that her eyes will rather open for Mr B. So, you start to pray lots of confusion over Mr A in such a way that he disappears from the picture. What now? You prayed for Mr B, you created another chaos in the spirit-realm and opened yourself up long ago for a familiar spirit, because you were in rebellion against what the Lord planned for your children. Not even realizing that you are allowing a familiar spirit to create so much chaos, divination in people’s lives. You know that you did wrong, that your daughter is not going to marry Mr B, so what are you doing now? Suddenly you remember all the hurt you went through and begin to think that he is going to hurt your child the same way that I’ve been hurt. Instead of just allowing the Holy Spirit to bring total healing in your heart and allow your child to go through the steps and the journey that God wants them to go through to make choices for themselves.

Luke 16 (NIV)

There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20 At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’

25 “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’

27 “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’

29 “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’

30 “‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’

31 “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”
