The Tools of a Scribe

  1. Plumbline

 Zech 4:10 (NLT)

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.”

Let the prophecies spoken over your life become the plumb line according to which you walk with the Holy Spirit. Write it down and go back to it often.

  1. Scroll

Ezekiel 2:9-3:2 (NLT)

Then I looked and saw a hand reaching out to me. It held a scroll,10 which he unrolled. And I saw that both sides were covered with funeral songs, words of sorrow, and pronouncements of doom.

The voice said to me, “Son of man, eat what I am giving you—eat this scroll! Then go and give its message to the people of Israel.” So I opened my mouth, and he fed me the scroll.

Let the Word of the Lord become part of who you are. Write it down, listen to it over and over again and read it over and over again.

  1. Signet Ring

Haggai 2:23 (NKJV)

23 ‘In that day,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘I will take you, Zerubbabel My servant, the son of Shealtiel,’ says the Lord, ‘and will make you like a signet ring; for I have chosen you,’ says the Lord of hosts.

The Lord has given you a signet ring of authority. When you write down the prophecies over your life it becomes the seal of the prophecies spoken by the mouth of the Lord.

  1. Moses’ Rod

Exodus 14:15 (NIV)

15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. 16 Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.

The prophecies spoken over your life, which you wrote down becomes the staff in your hand by which the Lord can part the sea before you.

  1. Assayer

Jeremiah 6:27 (Amp)

I [says the Lord] have set you [Jeremiah] as an assayer and a prover of ore among My people, that you may know and try their doings and be like a watchtower.

In 1 Timothy 1:18 it says that the prophecies spoken over your life help you to fight well in the Lord’s battles.
